imovie is not finalizing to put it on a DVD, says-"not enough room in heap zone"

I have recently made a 30minute imovie project but then the problem that I am facing with the same is that when I am trying to put the same on the DVD then it is giving me an error message saying "project could not be prepared for publishing because an error occurred (not enough room in heap zone)" I really don’t know what it meant by that, I mean that what is the heap zone here and how will I have to make room for finalizing the movie, is there anyone who can help me out with this??

Yes you will have to try out freeing up some addition space from the hard disk, other than this you can also try out finalizing the project by going in to the File>Finalize Project, use Share>Media Browser and then selecting the highest size available option from there, I will like to inform you that Finalizing basically creates separate movies that are available for different destinations and in different size as well, for eg iTunes, iPad etc the time and the disk space required for the process may vary, if you want then you can just drag the exported movie from iDVD's Media browser to the Theme background and so, anyways just try out the solutions that I have mentioned and then let me know the response that you get for them.

I have checked out some threads for the "heap zone" error and have found some solution that has been mentioned there to be helping, so you even you can just give it a try and see if it is helping you as well or not.
    • First try renaming the project and making sure that there are no special characters in the name
    • You can try out restarting your mac as well
    • Try disconnecting devices like iPod, iPhone, external drives if they are connected to the mac during this process.

The voted solutions was renaming the project and making sure that there are no special characters, if you want then you can try using hyphen in the name, just try out these solutions and then let me know if they are making any difference or not.

I think that I can help you out here, actually I was having the same issue before and even I was not aware of what "project could not be prepared for publishing because an error occurred (not enough room in heap zone)" it mean but then after some research I found that heap zone is the hard drive where as the "not enough room" refers to the "not enough contiguous space". In order to solve out the issue I had optimized my volume on the drive and after clearing and freeing MB of Contiguous Free Space I was not getting the same error message again and everything went smoothly, just perform the solutions that I have mentioned and I am quite sure that it will help.

I was facing the same error And it was with the longer and more complex projects, I felt that I was pushing iMovie to the max, anyways in my case I was having a 70 minute HD project in iMovie and I was getting the same error message and I used get other message as well saying "OSstatus error 29562." I had tried out a no of possible solutions like restarting, hard resets, repair on the disk utility but then they were just not making any difference and I was really running out of ideas scratching my hair as the project that I was carrying was to be completed as soon as possible, later I splitted the project in half and after that copied the same twice in Project Library and after that I just made a cut for the first half followed by the second and after that I did not had any issues in exporting in full HD, so if the above solution does not work out for you then you can try out what I did, I am not aware of the above solution as I have not tried out the same. Anyways check try out the solutions that has been mentioned here and then let me know which one is helping you out.
