First of all I will like to install you that IOS 6 has not been released by now, it is just available for the registered member of ios 6 Developer Program. The registered member gets the IOS 6 image for testing purpose, If you want then you can register for the same and get a IOS 6 image as well. If you are not willing to do the same then you will have to wait for IOS 6 official release, which is probably guessed to be released by October of this month.

Yes the iOS 6 has been released as beta for their registered member of ios 6 Developer Program. Like mentioned it is said to be released officially by October 2012. The developer account will cost you around $99. If you are a normal user and not in to developing then I will suggest you to better wait for iOS 6 official release. Since it is still in testing there will be a lo fog bug and if a normal user install the same just for the sake of getting IOS 6 for now then he will face many issues. I have come across some people doing the same for the sake of getting ios 6 and have rolled back to ios 5 because of the bugs in it. Wasting $99 does not seem to be a good idea just for the sake of getting ios 6.

If you are a member of Apple's iOS Dev Center then just back your iOS device as your current data will be lost and proceed further with the below steps:
    • First login in to iOS Dev Center and then click on iOS Provisioning Portal link and click on Devices> Add Devices> now enter the UDID of the iOS device, you can get the UDID using Xcode or iTunes.
    • For getting the UDID via Xcode method just connect your device to your system and Open Xcode. After that select ‘Organizer’ by navigating to ‘Window’ drop down menu. After selecting the Organizer you will see the device’s UDID, just make a note of the same or copy it somewhere.
    • For getting UDID via iTunes method just connect your device to your system and open itunes. After that select your and click on select your> Serial Number label> you will get UDID here. Once you get the UDID for your device you can get the latest version of Xcode or latest version of Xcode. For downloading latest Xcode go back to iOS Dev Center and click on iOS 6 SDK Beta tab and Download latest Xcode from there.

Installing iOS 6 Beta using Xcode:
First connect your device to your system and open Xcode and make sure that you are closing iTunes at that time. Now go to Windows > Organizer and select your Device and click on “Use for Development” option. When you do so you might be prompted for the login detail, so after entering the same click on Software version> other version> Finder> and download iOS .ipsw file and select the same.
When you are able to see iOS 6.0 beta in the Software version then simply click on Restore iOS device. Your device will reboot after that but the Xcode will continue to run in background and will display ‘New Device Detected’ dialog. So when you get that dialog then click on ‘Use for Development’ and open iTunes and just set the device for iOS installation. Once updating process gets finished then you can start using iOS 6 beta.

Installing iOS 6 Beta using iTunes:

First connect your device to your system and open iTunes, select your Device and go to Summary tab and Hold down Alt+Option and click on Restore button and then Go into Finder for downloading and installing iOS .ipsw file from iOS Dev Center. So when your device reboot and shows ‘New Device Detected’ dialog then click on ‘Use for Development’ and just set the device in iTunes for iOS installation
