Thread: Firewall enabling fails after installing Panda internet security 2012 in my laptop

Is just your firewall not working or there are other settings too which are creating issue on your laptop? I think your installing has been not proper in the laptop. Make sure that you have installed it properly, uninstall and then again reinstall the antivirus and then restart the laptop, after restarting the laptop try to activate the required setting.

Why is it so that only the option is not available in my settings in order to make the firewall active? I tried all the basic possible solution from reinstalling the software to restarting the pc again and again. I restarted the laptop number of times but it made no difference. I can’t even find the enable option in the settings. Rest everything is getting activated and running smoothly.

Initially I thought that issue is with the software but now after reading the thread I came to know that the software is good and also the installation is perfect, as it is mentioned in the thread that the same antivirus is running perfectly in the pc. I am sure that there is some silly mistake committed by me which is disallowing me to enable the firewall.

Try the one which I suggest. Follow the steps:

• Click on the panda icon
• Click Service
• Then click Activate

After that you will have to enter the customer number, activation code and the password. After entering the required information do the update and the scan the computer completely.
Now in order to get access to the panda firewall you will have to turn off the Microsoft firewall.

Dude even I know the complete steps to active the services but let me tell you, I can’t find the activate button on the service screen. This is what my exact problem is. The same option is available on my computer screen but invisible in my laptop. I think I will have to carry on with the Microsoft firewall.

I have a windows 7 system at my place. The first time when I bought my pc i installed Panda security 2012 which showed me the same problem of firewall. But consulted many people and also tried out various R&D in order to get an appropriate solution but nothing worked. Then on my friend suggested me to switch the older version of the same product i.e. Panda Security 2011.

I agreed with his suggestion and installed Panda Security 2011 which indeed worked well without any issue but after when it got expired I decided to again switch back to the latest 2012 version of the product. And guess what this time everything went into its place, from the installation to the firewall activation every single thing was perfect.

I have downloaded hotfix and sorted all my issues related to the Panda software. Initially I had lots of major and minor problem when I installed this antivirus. The major and the related one was the firewall issue; whenever I try to ON the firewall the panda ask me to restart the PC and when I restart the PC and try to activate the firewall it again gives me the same option of restarting again.
But after downloading Hotfix everything seems to be working fine.

Let me tell you Hotflix does nothing instead it becomes another headache for us. When I downloaded and started Hotflix, I got a screen which said “Stating” but the same screen stayed there for several minute and did nothing further and also didn’t give me any error message to let me know whether thing are going right or wrong. Then too I rebooted the system and then again started Hotflix but still the same thing is happening. Everything stops at the starting screen.
